For nearly ten years, my husband and I co-owned and operated a multi-location auto repossession and transport company — five locations, 50+ employees, multi-million dollars in annual revenue, and ranked #2 in our region.
We didn't just repossess vehicles. We hauled them ourselves — coordinating drivers, managing routes to auction and drop-off points, tracking mileage and fuel, and keeping the whole transport side of the business running alongside recovery operations.
I managed the accounting for all of it: payroll across five locations, high-volume daily transactions, fleet and maintenance costs, driver settlements, and the financial reporting that let us actually see how the business was performing — not just guess at it.
